So out of character for Carrey – His emotion in the film works well with the psychological thriller and sci-fi aspects that unfortunately failed to get him noticed by the Academy awards.

3. Alan Rickman


A former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. His roles have included The Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood; Prince of Thieves and Han Gruber in Diehard.

Alan Rickman is highly noticed as one of the best actors to have never been nominated for an Oscar. He has won a BAFTA and Golden Globe award in the past.

4. Donald Sutherland


Mr. Sutherland has been an actor for decades and is a versatile thespian. His greatest roles include Fellini’s Casanova, Kelly’s Heroes and Pride and Prejudice.

5. Arnold Schwarzenegger


Appearing on this list may be a joke to some people but the actor won a Saturn Award for Best Actor in Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

It takes a lot of talent to put so much emotion into a lifeless robot without feeling. This was something Arnie did perfectly.

6. Ewan McGregor


His Camp portrayal of Obi Wan Kenobi was not a bad effort but nor was it worthy of an Oscar nomination. Trainspotting was worthy of a nomination and has amassed a cult following since its initial release. Ewan delivers a worthy performance in Trainspotting that set up the rest of his career.

7. Jeff Daniels


Jeff Daniels has been nominated for 4 Golden Globe Awards; that is some feat in itself. At 58 years old this man is a true Hollywood Veteran.

8. Kevin Bacon


An actor who can delve deeply into any role. Taking Chance was loved by people across the globe; in many of his other roles he always manages to pull off what is required of him.

Hollow Man, X Men: First Class and Apollo 13 would not have been as good without Mr. Bacon.

9. Steve Buscemi


Steve Buscemi has a unique style and look that give him the natural ability to adopt very abstract and disturbing roles. These natural abilities also seem to include swerving Oscar nominations.

Mystery Train, Con Air and Reservoir dogs are films you need to watch to understand the talent of this man.

10. John Cusack


John Cusack has had his fair share of cheese ball film roles; Con Air? Forget that, we all make mistakes.

Fans should focus on High Fidelity and Being John Malkovich; so should the Academy committee next time he delivers a great role like he did in these great films.

11. Jeff Goldblum


Many believe that Sci fi films should be considered more so for acting awards. Jeff’s starring role in The Fly was worthy of an Oscar nomination in every film awards ceremony!
