We all face days when for some reason we just don’t feel quite right.

It doesn’t matter if you are sick, lethargic, you received some bad news, or you are simply bored – there’s nothing a good coming-of-age classic can’t cure.

These type of movies are funny, informative, witty, and most importantly – they will definitely lift you up.

Here are 5 of our favorite movies we like to turn to every now and then in order to indulge in a little positive escapism.

10 Things I Hate About You (1999)

This is most definitely one of the best teenage movies to ever hit big screens. 10 Things I Hate About You is a loose adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous story “ The Taming Of The Shrew” and is set in modern-day Seattle, Washington.

The movie focuses on a pretty, popular teenager who can’t go out on a date until her ill-tempered older sister does.

Oh yeah, and it stars Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The perfect combo.

Amélie (2001)

This timeless movie should be re-watched every couple of years, just to remember why we live and love. Aside from the brilliant writing and performance, Amélie is one of the most visually stunning movies ever made.

You simply must see Audrey Tatou as this quirky, romantic, but lonely do-gooder.

High Fidelity (2000)

High Fidelity is more than a classic. The movie is based on the book by the same name written by Nick Hornby, and both the book and its movie adaptation are equally brilliant and witty.

The story follows Rob, a music-obsessed miserable bastard who gets dumped by his girlfriend so he decides to re-examine all of his past relationships in order to make sense of where they all went wrong.

If you are a fan of music and dry humor, this one is a slam-dunk.
