American Gods

Although this amazing show is only a couple of episodes into its first season, “American Gods” has just sealed the deal for coveted season 2.

While this might not seem like that big of a deal, it actually is.

Especially if you take into account how easily TV shows get cancelled these days. Luckily, the US cable channel Starz is showing a lot of faith in their newest baby called American Gods as they now gave green light for the second season of this already insanely popular and critically praised series.

The Plot Of American Gods

The show is Bryan Fuller’s and Michael Green’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s cult novel and it focuses on a former prison inmate Ricky Whittle (Shadow Moon) who finds himself entangled in a world of old and new gods competing for mankind’s belief.

Whittle finds work with the mysterious and conniving Mr. Wednesday (played by Ian McShane), but is only yet to figure out what he got himself into.

Carmi Zlotnik, the Starz programming president, had this to say about the show:

“Bryan Fuller, Michael Green and Neil Gaiman have evolved the art form of television narratively, structurally and graphically with American Gods, and we’re thrilled to be working again with these artists as they continue to build the worlds and wars of the gods.”

The first season of American Gods is an eight-episode project, and although the details regarding season 2 are still unknown, we are definitely hoping the show scores more episodes next time around.

Season 1 is currently available via Amazon Video.
