Deadpool was a huge success, despite facing many an obstacle during its development and being R-rated. It managed to win the hearts of both the audience AND the critics.

As it soon became the biggest domestic hit in the X-Men franchise, the sequel was pretty much inevitable.

Now, we’ve learned that 3 of the supporting characters from the first movie are coming back, and things are shaping up rather nicely for Deadpool 2.

Although screenwriters/producers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are still keeping the plot-related details closely under wraps, the duo recently revealed that three of the supporting characters from the first movie are coming back for the follow-up.

Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Dopinder (the cab driver) are all back and the fans are going crazy.

But What Else Do We Know About Deadpool 2?

The sequel will see Ryan Reynolds return as the main star of the project, and with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick already back as the screenwriters/producers, there’s only one puzzle piece missing from the picture: director, Tim Miller.

However, it is merely a matter of time before he also announces his return to the franchise. According to

“It was noted that it’s expected 20th Century Fox will make a deal to bring the filmmaker back for the follow-up. While Tim Miller hasn’t been officially confirmed as the man at the helm of Deadpool 2 yet, it would be a big surprise if he didn’t return.”

As far as the plot is concerned, nothing is certain just yet.

The first Deadpool movie gave us the non-linear story describing how Wade Wilson went through experimental treatments to cure his cancer and wound up with incredible healing abilities and one huge revenge mission on his hands.

Now, that the writers’ imagination can go either way, the plot possibilities for Deadpool 2 are indeed endless.

Stay tuned.
