Although some producers and fans may have been worried that audiences worldwide won’t exactly be running to theaters to explore new origin stories of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange has managed to prove them wrong.

Oh, so wrong!

It is now pretty clear that Marvel fans are more than willing to come and see how the MCU expands, you just have to provide them with a good watch. And Doctor Strange is just that.

Surpassing Iron Man At The Box Office

As reports, Doctor Strange has now crossed $616 million globally, making it the most successful single-character movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A successful Thanksgiving weekend indeed.

The previous record was set by Iron Man back in 2008 when the movie ended up making $585 million worldwide.

Surpassing The Expectations As Well

Doctor Strange has now officially become the most successful single-character MCU movie, but it appears that the producers really went out on a limb for this one.

Namely, the movie was a real gamble and had some fairly high stakes for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.

The thing is that Doctor Strange wasn’t one of the most popular and well-known superheroes and all of the trailers available prior to its release date made it clear that this movie adaptation would be everything but what the fans had been expecting.

It just goes to show that he who dares, wins.

And also that Benedict Cumberbatch can pretty much do anything acting-wise. What a performance!
