It appears that Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, who collaborated on hits “Paranormal Activity 4” and “Catfish”, are starting to take this long-gestated thriller “Nerve” seriously as Emma Roberts and Dave Franco both signed for the project.

The original book was written by Jeanne Ryan and it focuses on a high school senior Vee (to be played by Emma Roberts), a girl who never got to become popular.

In order to try and break this routine, she “joins a global online game built around a provocative, overhauled version of truth or dare, which features an audience of watchers who vote for their favorites and comment on what’s going on.”

Emma’s character will soon become an online sensation when she starts advancing higher and higher, however, when she reaches the upper levels of this strange game, the rules will cease to exist and her life will be at stake.

Familiar Environment

The script comes from “American Horror Story” TV writer Jessica Sharzer, and since Emma starred in this awesome anthology TV horror show, the two certainly know each other will have no problem collaborating on this new, promising thriller.

Roberts will soon hit big screens twice – in the drama called “I Am Michael” and in romantic comedy “Ashby.”

As for Dave Franco, the actor is currently shooting illusionist caper thriller “Now You See Me: The Second Act”, which is set for theatrical release on June 10, 2016.
