Exciting news for lovers of the Marvel universe! While James Gunn works on the script for the sequel of the immensely popular (among both critics and mass audiences) Guardians Of The Galaxy, he likes to keep fans updated on the project. Gunn revealed that the filming of the sequel will begin in February 2016!

Gunn talked with fans about Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 via Periscope, and said that the film will begin shooting in February 2016, but in a different location.

Although the first part was filmed in London, the shooting of the sequel will be placed at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta.

The famed writer also said that he’s 70 pages into his script, and that his pitch of the sequel’s storyline went “incredibly well with Marvel,” even though they thought it was very risky at first. Luckily for Gunn, the studio was “okay with his crazy plan.”

Gunn also shared some exciting news for all Karen Gillan fans out there. The beautiful and talented actress will be reprising her role as Nebula, the adopted sister of Zoe Saldana’s Gamora. The last time we saw Nebula was when she was battling it out with her sister Gamora in an action scene. Luckily for Gillan, Gunn says he may even have an idea to bring her back without the necessity of the actress going full bald again.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 will premiere on May 17th, 2017.
