After a job well done in “Black Mass”, Johnny Depp is looking to do another crime drama-thriller combo. The actor is currently in talks for Paramount’s “Triple Frontier”, the crime driven thriller which has been in development for quite some time now.

“Triple Frontier” is now well in the works J.C. Chandor as the main man behind the camera, and Mark Boal as the main man behind the script.

Chandor is well-known for his great work on movies like “Margin Call”, “All Is Lost” and “A Most Violent Year”, while Mark Boal did good with “The Hurt Locker” an “Zero Dark Thirty” scripts.

After recently earning a SAG nomination for playing mobster Whitey Bulger in “Black Mass,” Depp is looking for new, equally challenging endeavor.

Though he hasn’t yet signed the papers officially, the actor has been eyeing this project ever since Kathryn Bigelow (“Zero Dark Thirty”) got involved.

There’s still no info on the plot, however we do know the title refers to the infamous tri-border between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil – an infamous focal point for organized crime and terrorist activity, as the Paraguayan side has no anti-terrorism laws.

Although no synopsis is available online, there are certain keywords Triple Frontier is generating thus far, including action adventure, smuggling, drugs… you get the point.
