Now that “Deadpool” is finally out there and we can enjoy all of its 4th-wall-breaking, R-rated, magnificent glory, all that is left for the really hardcore fans of Marvel is to patiently await the end of the “Wolverine” saga.

However, we all might be in for a surprise at the end of that road.

While talking to MTV during the Academy Awards on Sunday night, Liev Schreiber was asked if he will possibly reprise his role of Sabertooth one more time for the upcoming “Wolverine 3.” The answer was not an expected one.

Said Schreiber: “We talked about it. I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story – that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.”

For the most part, it will be fun seeing good, ol’ Liev strapping in once more and going beast mode on Hugh Jackman, who will be portraying the clawed superhero for the last time.

However, those who are acquainted with the Old Man Logan graphic novel will have a hard time recalling Sabertooth’s place in it – that’s because he’s not there.

Nonetheless, if it actually happens and Schreiber get his role in “Wolverine 3,” it wouldn’t be the first time Marvel reworked its own story. In any case, we’ll wait and see what the 2017 R-rated film brings to the table.
