When news of Jackie Chan’s new project swept the internet, movie fans around the world rejoiced. After ditching one title (The Foreigner), the famed action star’s action thriller project is on the quest for a new name and cast members.
The movie is an adaptation of Stephen Leather’s novel The Chinaman, and it will surely be a sight for sore action-seeking eyes.
Chan and the former 007 will definitely bring this movie to whole new levels when it comes to action movies, as both actors are staples of the genre.
The movie will follow the story of a London restaurant owner (played by Chan), who finds himself devastated and destroyed after an orchestrated attack by rogue Irish terrorists. After being let down by the justice system, the restaurant owner decides to track down the people responsible himself. Along the way, he meets Liam Hennessey (played by Brosnan), a former IRA member who is now a government official.
The screenplay was adapted by David Marconi and Peter Buchman. Shooting is reportedly set to start by the end of the year.
