For years and years, Tarantino fans have been speculating about the possible theory that suggests that all of his movies are actually somehow related and that they are all pieces of a larger puzzle we are yet to discover. Now, it appears that this theory wasn’t that bogus after all.

The man himself has recently talked about the matter, trying to uncover the big picture and unravel the truth behind what exactly connects all his characters and all his films.

The Tarantino Universe(s)

On Monday night, the filmmaker spoke live on the TV show The Project, when he revealed that protagonists of all his films are actually trapped in this peculiar universe of his creation.

It appears that the lurid, expletive ridden, and overly surreal dimension we enter while watching his movies is very much real, in fact (so to speak).

“There is actually two separate universes. There is the realer than real universe, alright. And all the characters inhabit that one. But then there’s this movie universe. So From Dusk Till Dawn, Kill Bill, they all take place in this special movie universe,” Tarantino said, and added:

“So when all the characters of Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction, when they go to the movies, Kill Bill is what they go to see. From Dusk Till Dawn is what they see.”

On the live show, Tarantino was accompanied by Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell, who seemed like they were also hearing this for the first time, which was a bit odd at best.

So, are Tarantino’s words indeed true and there is a bigger link between all his movie, or is he merely messing around with us? It doesn’t really matter, anyway. Who knows, maybe his final movie will tie all the dots together for us and we will finally see his ultimate creation. In the meantime, enjoy his work so far.
