Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson in Hitmans bodyguard

Since it was a rather slow and anticlimactic weekend at the US box office as there weren’t any truly notable new releases, Ryan Reynolds’ and Samuel L. Jackson’s action comedy “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” managed to stay atop the US box office charts.

This quality action-packed movie written by Tom O’Connor and directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3, Red Hill) added another $10 million according to studio estimates and ruled this rather uneventful weekend at the US charts.

This puts The Hitman’s Bodyguard down for a total of $39.6 million in the States.

The Rest Of The List

Gary Dauberman’s horror mystery “Annabelle: Creation” also managed to maintain its position – 2nd place – earning $7.3 million, while the first new arrival worth mentioning this week was the animated ballet picture “Leap!”, which landed third place at the American box office earning $5 million.

Taylor Sheridan’s action mystery “Wind River” came in 4th finally entering the top 10 to with $4.4 million, while the top five was complete with Steven Soderbergh’s “Logan Lucky,” which cashed in $4.3 million.
